Work samples are the sole way that panelists assess artistic excellence. Consider your choice of work samples carefully in relation to the program performance expectations.

Describe important points about the quality, scope and depth of your work in the work sample index. Work created collaboratively or under the supervision of a mentor or an instructor is not eligible for consideration. To maintain your anonymity, do not provide any information which might reveal your identity to the jurors. Do not include your name in your artist statement, your work samples and descriptions, embedded metadata or in work sample URLs and webpages.

Note: Include your name only in the Profile section and when signing the application certification. All work samples must demonstrate the discipline and subdiscipline indicated on the application. All work samples must have been completed within the past three calendar years.

For the the application deadline of March 27, , all work samples must have been completed between Jan. Choreography applicants must submit three video work samples no more than five minutes each as three separate web links.

Musical composition applicants must submit three audio work samples no more than five minutes each as three separate web links and three written examples of those work samples e.

It is suggested that applicants upload each work sample to a private and easily accessed YouTube or Sound Cloud channel. Password protected work samples will not be reviewed. Remember that any identifying information must be excluded from the web page and work sample. A panel of out-of-state, discipline-based arts professionals will review all eligible fellowship applications according to the performance expectations. A minimum of five eligible applications must be received in a fellowship category in order to undergo panel review.

The arts council reserves the right not to award a fellowship in any discipline for which applications have been solicited. Applicants who are approved for funding enter into an agreement with the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
